The Town of Hampden Massachusetts was founded in 1787 and in located in Hampden County.
Those in town should visit The Historical Society which is located in Old Academy Hall with displays of Sunday-go-to-Meeting clothes along with letters written by those who once called Hampden home. Hampden is also home to Thornton W. Burgess who is an author of children nature books.
Current residents feel the town is a place you don’t want to leave in the morning and you’ll be relieved to retune at night.
